Frequently Asked Questions
Take the guesswork out of hiring a copywriter.
Here are answers to some of the questions I’m asked most often as a writer and content editor. If there’s anything else you’re curious about, or you’d like to talk through your project, feel free to get in touch.
-
Copywriters are behind much of the writing you see day to day – websites, blogs, adverts, product descriptions, slogans, newsletters. Our job is to get to know your brand and your audience, then turn your message into words that are clear, creative, and engaging. Good copy helps more people notice your content, connect with your brand, and ultimately, take action.
-
Copywriting is persuasive – it nudges people to do something, whether that’s making a purchase, signing up for a mailing list, or exploring what you have to offer. Content writing is more about storytelling and sharing something helpful or interesting – through blogs, guides, or feature articles. The two can overlap, but knowing the difference makes sure every word does the job it’s meant to do.

If you’re looking for thoughtful, engaging copy and content that connects with your audience and sounds like your brand, we could be a great fit. I work best with people who care about doing things well and value quality over quantity. Take a look at some of my past projects to get a feel for my work.

I love working with purpose-led brands that want to make a positive impact. I have a soft spot for lifestyle, home, food, and travel businesses, but what matters most is the people behind the company or organisation – kind, collaborative teams make for the best projects.
-
I write website copy, landing pages, newsletters, email campaigns, brand stories, editorial-style content, and more. You can download my services menu for the full list, or get in touch to chat about a bespoke project.
-
Absolutely. One of my favourite parts of the process is getting to know your tone, style, and the little quirks that make your brand feel like you. Whether your voice is playful, polished, warm, or witty, I’ll make sure every piece of content feels authentic and consistent.
-
Yes – as well as writing content from scratch, I can tidy up anything you’ve already written – improving structure, tightening sentences, and making sure everything is clear, consistent, and typo-free. From light proofreading to full structural edits, I’ll polish your content so it’s ready to publish.
-
We usually start with a quick call (video or voice call, whichever you prefer) to chat through your project. I’ll then send you a simple briefing document to fill out, so I can put together a proposal with the scope, timelines, and cost. Once that’s approved and a deposit paid, I get to work – checking in as we go and fine-tuning the copy until you’re completely happy with the result.
-
My pricing depends on the project, so I quote on a case-by-case basis. After we talk through what you need, I’ll send a clear proposal so you know exactly what’s involved. To give a rough idea, you’ll find starting prices in my services menu, and if you’d like a general sense of freelance rates, the ProCopywriters website is a great place to look.
-
No, I don’t use AI to write copy, but I do use it for research and inspiration. It’s handy for quick summaries or ideation, but it can’t replicate the original, considered writing I care about, which is why everything I deliver is written and refined by me.
-
Every project includes revisions, and we’ll work together to adjust the copy until it feels right. I want you to be completely happy with the result, so I offer as many rounds as we need, though in most cases, two rounds are enough.
-
Drop me a message or book a free intro call on my contact page. We’ll have a good chat about what you need, and go from there – easy as that.
-
To make sure every project gets the care it deserves, I work with only a small number of clients at a time. Once we’ve gone through your brief, I’ll let you know exactly when to expect drafts and final copy.
